This course will give a solid foundation in bike maintenance, helping you understand how your bike should work, how to avoid and to recognise problems and to carry out adjustments and repairs. There are various ways that looking after your bike better will make cycling more enjoyable and also save you money on repairs.
The course is delivered by an experienced mechanic from Cork Community Bikes. Topics covered include brakes, punctures, parts of the bike, basic and advanced checks, gears, wheels, bearings. This course will be run from Rebel Reads (map here) as a total of 2 sessions, 11am-4.30pm each, spread over 2 Sundays, 19th Nov and 26th November 2023. We will try to give you as much hands-on experience as possible . Tools and bikes to practise on will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own. Course notes are provided by email.
